Out of New Mexico and into Texas

Our last day in Albuquerque and Duncan relaxes on his blanket on he dash.

We arrive in Tucumcari . . . Dick gets the power cord plugged in and gets back in the coach just as we start to hear tap, tap, tap on the roof of the coach. We see nickle sized hail.

Within just a few minutes the ground is almost covered.

By the time it stops it looks like it has snowed.

Our little Suzuki (Dragon Tail) took quite a hit and is now dimpled. The Dragon is fine and just needs a bath.

We found out the next day that 13 tornadoes touched down just 70 miles south of us and leveled many homes so I guess we were lucky.

Our next stop is Amarillo, TX where we checked in to our campground and explored the town. The Big Texan Steakhouse is the tourist hot spot so of course we had to go. They offer a free 72oz steak if you can eat it and all the trimmings in 60 minutes.

We watch a couple of guys attempt to eat the 72oz steak while we enjoy our own much smaller steaks. They didn't finish and neither did we.

Dick enjoying his meal. Cowboys in the background shows we really are in Texas.

Dick tries a one arm bandit.

Little Dicky in the great big chair.

This restaurant offers a place for you to turn out your horse while you enjoy a meal, just in case you ever bring Hannah to Texas, Pam.
The American Quarter Horse Museum is here but was not open.
I'm still not a Texas fan.
